I’m re-watching Prick Up Your Ears on DVD and Kenneth and Joe are at the Festival of Britain and there are fireworks and WOW
Imagine how fucking amazing it would be to be alive then. Like you’ve just suffered through World War II and you’ve seen your country destroyed. You’ve been barely living for years and years and now the rationing is over and you’re free again.
Imagine how that must feel to finally be allowed to live freely for the first time. And it’s the first time in decades. Europe just went from World War I to a depression and then they had a few years before the war. It’s crazy. So many of them must have been so incredibly relieved to be free again. For some it was probably the first time in their adult lives.

I don’t know there are just so many amazing events in history and the emotions that would be flowing through everybody during those times are spectacular.
I love trying to put myself in times like that and just trying to feel how everyone felt. I hope that there’s some major breakthrough so I can feel that way
I mean the closest I’ve ever felt was when they legalized gay marriage in New York while I was at that theater and everyone was clapping and I was just so in the moment and like I was swept up by everyone else’s emotion and excitement and everything but I mean, that decision didn’t mean anything to me personally so idk
